David Krakauer
A Juilliard graduate and classically trained clarinetist, David Krakauer has garnered internationally acclaim and has enchanted audiences around the world.
Krakauer is a master of a plethora of styles including classical chamber music, East- European klezmer music and avant-garde improvisation. He is known for his involvement in the revival of the klezmer music in the late 1980s as a member of Klezmatics.
Never restricting his musical creativity and repertoire, Krakauer fuses klezmer contemporary music genres, like funk. He has collaborated with Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis. Krakauer is also the leader of Klezmer Madness!, which is comprised of Michael Sarin (drums), Sheryl Bailey (guitar), Nicki Parrot (bass) and Will Holshouser (accordion) and features DJ Socalled.
