Vancouver-based singer, songwriter and accordion player, Geoff Berner has toured in 17 different countries and has accompanied musicians and groups such as Billy Bragg, The Kaizers Orchestra, Balkan Beat Box and The Be Good Tanyas.
Berner has garnered critical acclaim for his political and satiric songwriting and riveting cabaret performance presence and style.
His first experience with Jewish music was in Hebrew school and synagogue. In order to reconnect to his Jewish musical heritage, Berner travelled to Romania in 2004 to search for musical legends that were presumed dead and the roots of klezmer music.
